Psychosexual medicine

Dr Shilpa Sivaraman

Locum Consultant Psychiatrist,

Exeter home treatment team

I had started a QIP on sexual dysfunctions in patients under mental health team with a view to identify the extent of the problem and to see how confident are our clinicians in identifying the sexual difficulties and managing these difficulties. Often sexual difficulties are missed or not prioritised though they are a common side effect of psychotropics. I am hoping to assess this gap in the services with a view to identify the need of a specialist clinic for managing these.
