Special interest sessions with dual diagnosis patients in the homeless

This is an exciting new opportunity to experience the challenges of working with people with complex needs. The placement will have supervision from an experienced addiction psychiatrist, Dr Alison Battersby but working alongside GPs with special interest and experience in this field. The aim will be to learn addiction skills and practice a holistic approach. The trainee will also work alongside the complex needs team from Livewell who will assist with induction. The placement can be offered on Mondays and Thursdays and can be based at Shekinah, George House and/or probation.

Some of the GPs involved in this placement are also linked to the university (Professor Byng and Dr Ayres). There is also a strong emphasis on teaching medical students. The trainee will also hold an honorary contract with the GP surgery. For any queries about the placement please contact Dr Battersby
